Dear reader,
Since our first newsletter, we are now well into spring. Bees are buzzing, dandelion seeds are scattering. The holiday season is high. Those of us lucky enough to receive holiday pay are looking forward to our paycheck at the end of the month.
A necessity for one and a fun way to socialise for another, work eats up up to eighty percent of our day. We search, we build our identities in the space of qualifications and expertise. There are people who, due to declining mental health, can’t recognise their own children but still reply to professional questions with readiness and passion. Work is a big part of us.
This month, we’re sharing with you our selection of articles on all things work related. How do we find a job? Why did we choose our career(s)? What did we learn from our experiences? How do we protect ourselves as (migrant) workers? Read on for a selection on:
😱 How to keep yourself sane during a job search by Shelly T.
🖼️ An interview with Jolanda, a volunteer coordinator at Mauritshuis.
🤯 Why can’t we find a job? By Angelika Sosnova
🧑⚖️ Work won’t save us, like, really. by Emily S.
🎼🎵Tired of reading heavy subjects? Here is an article that will uplift your day—Classical music for beginners. And don’t forget we publish fiction too. Check out this real-life inspired short story—The Museum Wedding Night. 💒👰💍🤵
Happy reading,
